Meet John Webster,

the Founder of Go Biochar

John has been working in the biochar industry for years, not just as a consultant, but as a hands-on producer. He’s made biochar at all levels, from simple flame cap kilns to owning and operating a commercial pyrolyser for years. He understands the technologies and challenges of making, selling, and applying it.

Over time, John has built a strong network of producers, experts, and buyers. He is a biochar educator and creates industry interest by speaking at conferences, leading and attending workshops, and providing guidance to those entering the space. His passion for biochar extends beyond carbon, it’s about connection, knowledge, and impact. With Go Biochar, John brings all of that experience together to help people find the right biochar supply, support new projects, deliver finance opportunities, and grow the industry with trust and purpose.

John is also the host of The Biochar Show podcast, is the Development Director for Biochar On Site, and as the former Communications Director for the US Biochar Initiative.
